Why Bother Split Testing My Sales Copy?

When you create a sales page you should always split test your sales copy to make sure you are getting the highest conversion rate possible. A simple bump of conversions from 2% to 5% can be an extra $50,000 or more per year in extra revenue you generate.

You can always test your copy manually which I do not recommend, as it becomes very difficult to track what is working and what is not working.

The software I like to use is called Easy Multi Tracking by Michael Humphreys. This allows you to do on the page testing and tracking. What this basically means is you can test different elements on the page all at the same time. If a visitor comes to your page they will see the same page every time since a cookie is set, but if a different visitor comes they will see a different page.

This is very powerful, and enables you to test copy, images, audio, video, and find out what is driving up conversions and what is driving them down to come up with the best possible sales page.

So next time you build a page I highly recommend using split testing software to put more money into your piggy bank.

Another type of testing which is far more complex and will give you much more information to digest is Taguchi Multivariate Testing.
